Profile

Abasiama Akpan portrait

Abasiama Akpan is an independent thinker and scholar. She is the founder of Regenesis, a global identity formation and development strategy organization built on the conviction that all of life flows from identity. She is an identity expert, speaker, and author.

Thinking and writing have been part of her since childhood. As a girl she read her mother's Shakespeare and literature collection, drawn to how writers use words to make people think and to expose what is really happening in a society. She later studied French literature, and her final dissertation examined how French Enlightenment writers, especially Voltaire in Candide, used words to challenge institutions and shape the ideas behind the French Revolution.

Before Regenesis, she ran Renaissance Book Center, a successful writing business. She produced business, technical, and research-based writing for a wide range of organizations and individuals. Regenesis is not a new direction. It is the same lifelong habit of observing, thinking, and writing, now applied to identity, and her purpose can be traced back to her earliest years.

Her Identity Thinking framework has been applied in education, personal development and international development research. Her work spans books, monographs, papers on ownership and development, and leadership training.

Introduction to read aloud. Abasiama Akpan is an independent thinker and scholar, an identity expert, and the founder of Regenesis. Her pioneering thought leadership on Identity Thinking begins with one question most of us skip: before we ask what to do or what to have, who are we being? She has written on busyness, convenience, personality, leadership, ownership and civilization through that single lens.
